Hi there– I’m Yuri, and I love writing. I also enjoy baking, yoga, and eating Nutella straight from the jar. That’s real life right there.
I attempted to blog, over at my previous blog, but something was missing. Now that my blog contains butter, I think we’re set.
As a child of Japanese immigrants, I grew up in New York eating traditional Japanese food like miso-marinated cod and soba noodles, but was surrounded by amazingly diverse cuisine. New York was a culinary haven, and I didn’t realize how spoiled I was until I moved to the Midwest for college (not to say the Midwest isn’t awesome– tater tot hot dish, anyone?).
Ironically enough, my favorite food is macaroni and cheese. I live for mac and cheese. I eat it for breakfast. I eat it as a snack. Add in some broccoli florets, and it’s basically a health food. I’m a recent pescetarian, and I appreciate good cheese and garden-fresh veggies.
Outside of the blogosphere, I’m a school psychologist, a wife, and a human-mom to two amazing canine companions– Juni (age 10) and Ollie (age 3).
Thanks for stopping by, and I can’t wait to share with you my baking, random thoughts, dog photos, and DIY projects!
PS- Like my background? Yeah, the sweet chevron print? Mad props to Tiny Sea for the cute pattern… thanks for letting me use it 🙂
